Using Email (Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac) One of the easiest ways to transfer. FWIW, developers of desktop Mac apps have also (until maybe when inside of the new 'stinky' sandboxes forced by the Mac App Store) to deal with this same problem. Also, you should store documents (things the user manipulates) in Documents and state in Library (you will notice no apps have 'data' stored in Library in the sense of a 'document'). The document may also require that you replace the PC font by using a font that is more suitable for the Mac, such as Arial or Verdana. If all these steps fail, the document is probably corrupted beyond recovery. At this point, you might have to look for a backup of the document, or re-create the document.

Photos Library On Mac

I have added this folder to my Finder sidebar so I don't have to go looking for it.

it is a very special folder indeed. eg you can't drag its proxy (icon) somewhere, eg dock (to have a pretty cloud icon there).
also navigation cmd-up doesn't work within it (even menu item Go > Enclosing Folder is greyed out when in one of the subfolders, or sometimes not but it's not working anyway).

You are not directly accessing iCloud by opening this folder. You are simply accessing the local cached files. This folder works exactly like a dropbox folder, where local content is updated in the cloud to reflect changes locally.
That said, if you find it easier to work in one folder, TextEdit will give you a friendlier interface, allow you to create 'folders' in the cloud, etc. Then you can just put an alias to the TextEdit folder instead of a shortcut to the ~/Library/Mobile Documents/ folder that isn't as intuitive since they just contain a list of GUID folders.
What I did is to move my documents by dragging them into the TextEdit interface, created my folders and whatnot, found the folder under ~/Library/Mobile Documents/ that was specific to the Text Edit app, created an alias to that folder, and then just dropped the Alias into my Documents folder on my doc so I have quick access to the cached files right from the dock.

How do you access your PhotoStream photos in iCloud. There does not appear to be such a folder in /Library/Moblil Documents/ folder?

Find Photo Library On Mac

Hi, I went to ~/Library and did not see this folder in there. Yes, I use iCloud. Why is not not there? (I also tried searching for the folder).
Paul

Make sure you are in your personal Library folder and not the System /Library folder.
An easy way to do this is to open a finder window, and then from the menu bar, select GO and then hold down on the OPTION key. You should see the 'Library' folder appear (it's normally hidden). Select it, and your user ~/Library folder will open.
From there just look for a 'Mobile Documents' folder.
Note that some of these folders will have non-obvious names. where you may see some for Keynote, Mail, Notes, Numbers, Preview, etc. Each of those apps that are Cloud aware may have a folder here. You will also find a few with random alphanumeric strings. Sometimes you can figure out the app that owns these from the names, sometimes not ;)

System Photo Library On Mac

Thanks for your response. I had a conversation with the author in the meantime and it only works with Mountain Lion, I have Lion. I didn't realize it when I posted.

How To Open Library Mac

If you want to easily add this folder to your Finder sidebar, and make it easier to scan for documents, rather than having to look thru the weirdly named folders ('com~apple~Preview'):
- select ~/Library/Mobile Documents and start a spotlight search there (start typing in the search field) and
- make sure 'Mobile Documents' is selected in the scope bar rather than 'This Mac'
- click the plus button and set 'Kind' is 'Document'
- click the Save button and make sure the 'Add to Sidebar' box is checked. Name it 'iCloud' if you like.
Now you have a saved search that shows all your Documents in iCloud
